Genealogy & Local History

Genealogy

For anyone interested in delving into local history, we have many resources available to you at the Westhampton Public Library. One collection of local history information is in our adult non-fiction collection as well as books on how to trace your family tree and beginning genealogy. These items are able to be checked out. We also have a wealth of resources available in the Judd Room Local History Closet- Inventory of Local History and Genealogy Closet.

The items in the Local History and Genealogy closet cannot be checked out, but you are welcome to use them in the library for your research. If you're interested in using our materials, we ask that you sign in with library staff at the circulation desk. We will provide a list of the items available. Let us know which you'd like to use and staff will retrieve them from the closet. When you're done, please return the items to the circulation desk.

If you'd like more assistance with your research, please give us a call so we can set aside time to speak with you in depth. You can reach the library at 413-527-5386. We welcome anyone to reach out with questions or comments about our special collection.
