Open Space and Recreation Committee

The Open Space & Recreation Committee is a newly created committee, charged with overseeing the update of Westhampton Open Space & Recreation Plan (earlier plan 2010-2017). Open space includes natural areas, parcels of historic significance, rural views, and properties in agriculture. The plan will also integrate the latest understanding of climate science as it relates to open space and recreation.

Current committee members include residents who have expertise in agriculture, forestry, conservation, and recreation, represent a mix of ages (2 youth representatives), and live in different parts of Westhampton.

The primary consultants are Conservation Works' Chris Curtis and Pete Westover, Pioneer Valley Planning Commission (mapping), and Weston & Sampson.

The plan will include input from a community survey so that the ideas and opinions of as many residents as possible are incorporated.
