Talk: Native Plants as Insect Habitats 7:00 pm

Next month the Community Room will host images of insects and their tracks by Charley Eiseman, one of the nation’s finest entomologists and a resident of the Connecticut River Valley. Charley is the co-author of Tracks and Signs of Insects (winner of the National Outdoor Book Award), a leading contributor to BugGuide.net, and was one of the experts featured in Alexandra Horowitz’s book On Looking: Eleven Walks with Expert Eyes. The Opening Reception will be held on April 7 from 5:30-7 pm, with Charley’s talk “Native Plants as Insect Habitats” to follow. Please feel free to bring in plants with insect sign and have Charley identify your “mystery” specimens.Thanks to the pollinating behaviors of insects, an array of light refreshments --juices, fruits and more-- will be served. This event is free and open to all.
