John Irving Clapp - Author Reading

Event Date:
Thursday, June 23, 2022 - 6:30pm to 7:30pm

Join author John Irving Clapp for a reading from his latest book, "Three Short Stories, Four Poems, and a Few Essays."  Signed copies will be available for purchase and light refreshments will be served.  David K. Leff, author of "Canoeing Maine's Legendary Allagash: Thoreau, Romance and Survival of the Wild" writes of Clapp's latest book -- "By means of stories, poems and essays John Clapp's roving imagination explores nature and human nature.  He takes us from rough characters, mean streets, and apocalyptic worlds to the peaceful precincts of Thoreau's Walden.  Reading these pages stretches the mind in unexpected ways, time well rewarded."

John Clapp lives in Florence, MA with his wife on land that has been passed down in his family for five generations.  He has been a carpenter for most of his life, and now runs a solar-powered bed and breakfast and writes in his cabin, a reproduction of Thoreau's.
