Wistariahurst and the Skinner Family

Event Date:
Thursday, April 19, 2018 - 6:00pm

Known world-wide for producing top quality silk and satin fabric, William Skinner and Sons Manufacturing operated their mill in Holyoke, Mass and employed thousands during peak production. The Skinner Family home, called Wistariahurst, tells a story of an immigrant who came with nothing, overcame huge challenges, and was able to thrive. William and his family left a legacy of philanthropy up and down the Pioneer Valley.

Join Penni Martorell, curator of Wistariahurst Museum and Holyoke’s City Historian, as she confides the details of this family and the workings of their nineteenth-century home.
