Mission Statement
The stated mission of the Friends of the Westhampton Public Library is as follows:

1) To support the library in developing, maintaining, and enhancing its facilities, resources, and services to the public.

2) To provide funding for such support through ‘Friends’ membership dues, fundraising initiatives and the encouragement of direct gifts to the library.

3) To actively promote an understanding of and appreciation for the Westhampton Public Library and to advertise its benefits to the general public.

The Friends of the Library is a private nonprofit fundraising organization formed by library supporters to augment the financial support appropriated at annual town meeting. Friends annual membership dues are used for a variety of needs identified by library staff. Membership dues range from $5 annually for seniors to $35 annually for a supporting membership. Renewing members often choose to support one or more additional initiatives. "Trybrary" donations are designated for the purchase of small technology items, learning kits, puzzles and games for our "library of things". Donations to the "Lyn Keating Programming Fund" are designated for programming and/or materials used in connection with programming.
